1) Is this real-time faxing?
Yes, the RangeTel fax service sends and receives messages in real time. The service does not use store-and-forward technology. The fax sender will receive an immediate confirmation of the successful delivery of the fax message.
2) Does the RangeTel service work with my fax machine?
Yes, it operates with all fax machines. Fax machines should be set to a 9600 baud rate automatically (or manually).
3) What network does the RangeTel fax service work on?
The service operates over all cellular and Internet services, including those provided by Bell Mobility, Rogers and TELUS Mobility. It also operates over satellite networks.
4) What equipment or device do I need to be able to send and receive faxes?
An analog adapter with an Ethernet port or interface is required. The adapter is preconfigured by RangeTel. For a cellular connection, a BlueTree or Raven Airlink modem with Ethernet is required. The cellular service should provide a public IP address. A VPN package would be representative of the type of data service required.
5) How much bandwidth and data does it take to send a page?
A typical fax page takes approximately 1 minute to send or receive. An average page uses approximately 125kb of data
